Well, well

It seems the Xbox 360 is upon us. Nice too see that one of the "big three" has kept their promise. In my humble opinion Microsoft looks to win this round by make their machine for more than just games. The ability to use your iPod to listen to music or the headset to make free calls over the internet is all very appealing, and more importantly, appealing to non-gamers. It the Disney of consoles - fun for the whole family. Now they just need to give us a release date for a Australia (damn this island nation!)

In other news our country continues to suck at rugby union and Family Guy just keeps getting funnier. Also if you find the sound of Governator's voice as much as me check this out

In closing I would like to recomend the fantastic MF Doom and Dangermouse album Dangerdoom - pure gold, and mourn the passing of a great man - Pat Morita. Wax out!

Big Day Out (for Oz)

Well, well. Looks like the Big Day Out has just gotten even better. The main feature, of the second round of acts announced, is the addition of some much needed hip hop elements with Common and MIA added to the bill. If you don't know who they are, Common released probably the best album of his (long) career Be which was produced by Kanye West (I know you have heard of him), MIA on the other hand is the woman who should have had a hit instead of Gwen with music and style similar to Holla Back Girl only more better (sic), much better. If you want to check out the full lineup check here

In other news Australia is into the World Cup after beating Uruguay in a tense penalty shootout. The above picture of the team celebrating. I was lucky enough to go to the game and I can safely say that soccer in Oz has come of age. Perhaps one day we will see soccer in prime time instead of Rugby League. Might stop all the group rapings as well. (Classy)

And finally in what is another step forward our local youth radio station has made a Oz drum and bass CD its feature album. Pendulum's Hold Your Color is featured this week on Triple J. Check it out if you have the chance, one of the best electronic albums of recent memory, and from Perth (who would have thought)......

I just had to post this terrible photo up on here. Just to re-emphasise the point that all rock star should stick to what they do. Oh and Adam Freeland just needs to give up. Everything and anything...stick to water mate.

In unrelated news for all those people who live in Oz got some good festival news. Common will be playing at the Big Day's Out. Nice to see more hip hop love for our shores. Also for the Good Vibrations festival the rumored lineup will include James Brown (!), DJ Marky, Talib Kwel and DJ Shadow. Roll on the festival season!

Borat on EMA's

Finally after the poor choice of Jimmy Fallon and Puffy Daddy....P.Diddy, what ever the hell his name is MTV has come up trumps with Borat hosting the EMA's. Here are some choice quotes taken from here

"Please prepare yourself for masturbation because next are international singing prostitutes, Pussy Cat Dolls"

"There is one singer called Shakira... sorry I laugh because in Kazakhstan this word means vagina. For example, 'Can I touch your shakira?' or 'I have seen your wife's shakira, it hangs like the mouth of a tired dog"

Pure Gold

Best Comic Ever...well one of the best I mean there was Calvin and Hobbes and Far Side..oh and those Bunny Suicides...they were pretty funny...

But this right up there for sure...!

This is my first post on my very own blog. I dont have much to say, which is a change. Though I would like to use this post to celebrate the return of good TV. That being Simpsons, Family Guy and Arrested Development. Thanks FOX.
