Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!

Oi! Oi! Oi! Yes the World Cup has begun in with our own Socceroos securing a first game win against a very confused and (tired) Japan. As much as I love Nintendo, Bape and those tiny digital cameras I can't help but glow with pride about our first World Cup goal(s) and win. Cahill for PM.
In other news Daft Punk is working on a new movie which surprisingly has something to do with robots and humans, check out the photos here. I can understand though lord knows how much those fancy robot masks cost, best to get your moneys worth. Keep an eye out for audio of their killer set a Cochella this year, just try and ignore the screaming idiot Americans in the B/G.
On the topic of Daft Punk there has been rumors floating round that they will make to too our shores this year sometime around Xmas. Apparently Groove Armada have been chosen for NYE Bondi Beach party which means we could be seeing them at the BDO. Did someone say 'Mainstage'?
I other music news I have recently been listening to the brand new Muse album: Blackholes and Revelations. Not being the biggest Muse fan but bearing witness to lavish praise they have received from both my friends and the press I have to say this album is rather impressive. Keeping with the trademark epic sound they have moved into more dancey synthy place. The album starts strong with a few slow numbers in the middle stopping if from being entirely perfect. They should hit our shores this year soon after they visit Japan for Fuji Rock.
In terms of visual entertainment I recently got heavily into Lost, I know I'm about 5 years late but too anyone who has yet to give this show a look I would highly recommend it. Just make sure you have a few episodes on hand as it is rather addictive. I also have the pleasure of seeing yet another Pixar classic on the weekend in the form of Cars. This film was directed by the same fella that directed Toy Story 1 & 2 and A Bugs Life and was just tops. There is something about a Pixar movie that makes it stand out from the over cluttered digital animation market. From the quality of the animation to story and characters nothing else quite gets there.
I was lucky enough to be accompanied to Cars by Emma my lovely girlfriend who now has her own My Space which can be found here. The link is also found permantly on the side bar. Make sure you check it out to see her in action and to keep up with her wacky adventures. She was also kind enough to take me too a great exhibition on at the blank_space gallery in Surry Hills. Ben Frost is the name of the artist and he work in the field of subversive pop art. Check out his site here, or simply head down to the gallery the works are even for sale.
And finally in a few week I will be heading to the Semi-Permanent conference created by Design is Kinky. Will be sure to post pics of all the goings on and sweet action.
